FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Straight answers on how Own Forge works, ownership, pricing, SEO, remote worldwide delivery, timelines, and whether we are the right forge for your business.

Business & ownership

Do I own the website and apps you build?

Yes. Builds are your asset. The monthly retainer covers hosting, security, and ongoing support, cancel with 30 days notice.

Are there per-user SaaS fees?

No. That is a core difference versus rented CRMs and booking tools. You are not charged per staff login.

Who is Own Forge for?

Service businesses worldwide, trades, cleaning, lawn care, beauty, hospitality, plus niche publishers who need content SEO engines. Live proof is New Zealand. Delivery is remote. If you want a $300 template with no strategy, we are not the fit.

Pricing & process

How does pricing work?

Local service work uses the published cards: a one-time setup plus a monthly partnership. Multi-team or regulated platforms are a separate book, scoped after a working session, and are not those card prices.

Are the homepage prices for every project?

No. Those cards are for trades, cleaners, studios, and similar local operators. If you are replacing a licensed system, importing a historic book, or running nationwide search as a dedicated job, start on the platforms path.

How long does a project take?

Tier 1 sites often ship in weeks once content and structure are agreed. Tier 2/3 timelines depend on booking logic and ops layers, we scope that before you commit.

Do you lock me into a long contract?

No long lock-ins. Monthly retainer cancels with 30 days notice.

SEO & marketing

Is SEO included?

On-page SEO, schema, and Google Business Profile setup are included in Tier 1. Local area packs, geo expansion, and content engines are optional add-ons.

Do you guarantee #1 on Google?

No. We build technical and content foundations that make rankings possible, then expand pages as your market justifies it.

Do you do link building or Google Ads?

Not in-house. We refer trusted partners. We own site architecture, speed, schema, and scalable pages.

Technical

What is a Progressive Web App (PWA)?

A website that installs on a phone like an app, home screen icon, fast loads, without App Store approval. Ideal for booking and customer portals.

Where are sites hosted?

On a global edge network for speed and security, managed as part of your monthly partnership.

Can you work outside Wellington?

Yes. Proof is Wellington and Kapiti. We work NZ-wide and worldwide remotely. Country pages for Australia, the UK, the US, and more explain how that runs.
